Jai Mansukhani
I’m a second-time technical founder with a background in computer science and math from the University of Toronto. I previously ran one of Canada’s largest AI communities and built and sold AI infrastructure into the largest public school network in Canada. Along the way, I worked at startups like Wombo, where I led GTM and partnerships, providing a mix of deep technical expertise and hands-on experience in scaling products and teams.
Questions & Answers
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
We're suited to win this because of who we are, not just what we built. We're hungry, and this industry rewards hunger. Insurance doesn't move for people who show up with a demo and leave. It moves for teams willing to sit with brokers, learn the workflows, and grind through long sales cycles, security reviews, and integrations into decades-old systems. We've done exactly that before. I sold AI into public schools, my co-founder deployed it into Quebec's largest hospital network, two of the most legacy, slow-moving environments you can pick. We know what it takes to get real technology live inside institutions that don't change easily, and we have the patience to do it right. Most teams building in AI want fast wins and pivot the moment things get hard. We picked insurance precisely because it's hard, because the teams that stick land the biggest prize.
What's the story behind your company?
It started with a leak. My apartment flooded, and the claim that followed was a mess. Weeks of phone tag, repeating the same details to different people, chasing updates that never came, and waiting on hold just to find out nothing had moved. I remember thinking, this is a moment where insurance is supposed to show up, and instead I was doing all the work. As we dug in and spoke to more and more brokers, we realized this wasn't a one-off bad experience. It was the daily reality of the industry. Brokerages are drowning in calls, emails, and manual follow-ups, and their best people spend most of the day on work that shouldn't need a person. That's when it clicked: the problem isn't the people, it's that nobody built software for how this work actually happens. So we built agents trained on the real work of running a brokerage, connected straight into the systems brokers already use.
Why are you excited about your company/product?
Because the market is massive and it has barely changed in 300 years. Insurance is a trillion dollar industry that still runs the way it did when Lloyd's was a coffee house: relationships, paperwork, and back and forth. The potential to reshape it is enormous, and most people are going after it the wrong way. They build chatbots that answer questions and then hand the real work back to a human, or tools that force brokers to change how they operate. We went the other direction. Our agents do the actual work, inside the systems and conversations brokers already live in. Edward answers underwriting questions with citations, Ava services customers around the clock, and Peter reviews every conversation for quality. Today that makes a team feel 10x bigger. Tomorrow, a single message thread becomes the way insurance gets done, from quote to renewal to claim. Industries this big and this untouched don't come around often, and we get to be the ones rebuilding it.
