Questions & Answers
How is your team uniquely positioned to solve the problem you're tackling?
Between the co-founders, we have several superpowers that uniquely complement each other. I have experience building and leading teams, and engineering solutions to complex problems. Huy has deep research experience in computer vision and computer graphics, as well as exceptional design chops (he is a longtime impressionist painter!). Quin has an insider's perspective of DC (crucial for our industry) and brings along unicorn-startup sales experience. We were all born to build this company and our backgrounds exemplify that.
Why are you excited about your company/product?
Spatial Intelligence is the next iteration of machine intelligence. There has been a limited body of work on embodied AI and 3D scene perception that we are building on, with huge implications. If we (humanity) can successfully build out open-vocabulary 3D scene understanding for agents (of all kinds), then we will be able to effectively transition from internet-data ML training to world-data ML training. This will unlock the next generation of autonomous systems that can learn from open-world unstructured data sets. We are making the first steps towards these capabilities at Traverse and we could not be more excited to be building towards that future.
