Questions & Answers

What's the story behind your company?

Like many young pet parents in my generation, I’ve always been obsessed with health and wellness—tracking, optimizing, and trying to make better daily choices. I also spent a decade working in human healthcare, which deepened my understanding of how fragmented, opaque, and expensive health can be. When I adopted my dog Omi eight years ago, I realized the same problems existed in pet care—limited transparency, high costs, and not enough accessible information to make confident decisions. We started Omi Health to change that: to bring more clarity, intelligence, and trust to how we care for our pets.

How is your team uniquely positioned to solve the problem you're tackling?

We are wellness-obsessed zillennial pet parents building for people like us—and for a future we couldn’t find in the current system. We’ve lived the confusion, cost, and opacity of pet care firsthand, and bring deep expertise at the intersection of consumer and human healthcare. That combination gives us a clear view of what’s broken today—and how we will build the most trusted destination for pet health.

What problem or opportunity inspired you to start your company, and how has your vision evolved since then?

We initially set out to build value-based care pet insurance, but quickly realized how deeply entrenched consumer skepticism is in that category. While the original approach didn’t stick, the mission did: helping pets live healthier, longer lives. We’ve since pivoted to a different solution that better meets pet parents where they are today, while still targeting the same core problem—improving long-term pet health in a way people can actually trust and engage with.
