Mecone
We are building the prediction market indexing layer to let exchanges offer Perpetual Futures ("Perps") on any underlying asset.
The future of finance will be more open and global, with participants of every kind, retail and institutional alike, trading more of the world's assets with less friction than ever before. In this future, Perpetual Futures ("Perps") will become the primary tool for speculation and hedging. With this future in mind we're building the financial infrastructure to let anyone trade Perps on any underlying asset. Today, Perps only exist on a handful of asset classes (e.g. the biggest commodities, FX, public equities, crypto). But there are a myriad of highly attractive long tail assets that Perps have failed to reach. We've developed a novel methodology that creates continuously updating indices for a wide range of these assets (e.g., fine art, real estate, etc). Because the index price updates continuously, anyone can build derivatives on top that settle against it. Our initial goal is to license these indices to Perp exchanges. Eventually, we plan to build our own U.S,-Based Exchange.

Xan Wesley
CEO & Co-Founder at Mecone. Previously at Stanford Law School and UC Berkeley, where I studied political science and neuroscience. In undergrad, I worked at Emory's Winship Cancer Center identifying gene targets for treating rare pediatric renal cancers. Since high school, I've run a non-profit that raises money for cancer research and connects patients to clinical trials. I also received a Congressional Service Award for my work as an EMT during the pandemic. (2021)

Hi, I'm Hugo! Since 2021, I've graduated college (Wofford College), received an MPhil (Clare College, University of Cambridge), worked on a farm, lived in a car for two and a half months, written a novel, passed the CFA Level 1 exam, started at and dropped out of Stanford Law School, and now I'm here. I love reading (mostly classics), going to the gym, and when I had more free time I surfed, rock climbed, cooked, backpacked, drank wine, and played video games.
