Europe is entering a defining decade. NATO allies have committed to spend 5% of GDP on defence and security by 2035, unlocking over €1 trillion in spending. This has fueled a wave of innovation far beyond traditional defence: from AI, space and robotics to energy, compute and biotechnology.

But traditional financial institutions were never designed to bank or finance the kind of innovation Europe now needs at scale: high-growth, technologically advanced, and operationally complex, often in sensitive areas such as defence and dual-use. Left unaddressed, that mismatch risks becoming the #1 bottleneck to Europe's economic, technological, and strategic future.
