Hooper
Hooper uses AI to generate highlights, stats, and the stories on the court that make everyone feel like a pro — all with just a phone.
AI is the new GPS: Just like how Strava leveraged GPS in phones to serve runners, Hooper is using video AI to empower athletes in basketball and other sports on the consumer-level. To get stats and highlights for a game, it’s now 100x cheaper and 10x faster. Vision: Open the access to pro-level training & storytelling to every athlete. The app today comes with stats, mixtapes, medals, and leaderboards, spurring comparison and competition. High retention: In the beta, users have shown that they love the product. The industry average of users returning to the app after 30 days is 8%. Hooper's is 38%. They continue to come back while also inviting those they play with, and sharing their content online.

Co-founder at Hooper
Steven Kang
After being roommates for 4 years at Yale with my cofounder, we both moved out together to the bay area. I have 10 years of experience in product dev and management at early to late stage startups, and most recently for Attentive's generative AI products. Cofounder and I won a hackathon together in 2017 with a computer vision algorithm to track sentiment from video chats. I taught myself to code, and have built 3 mobile apps in my spare time.
