Questions & Answers

Why are you excited about your company/product?

The UGC space we're currently operating in is still fresh and new, with many of the rules still to be written. As an early entrant into the arena, we're establishing a beachhead by building our IP, tech base, and corporate brand for the future of UGC.

How is your team uniquely positioned to solve the problem you're tackling?

As UGC platforms evolve, so will the expectations of the customer. The bars of technical expertise and quality will rise accordingly. As a result, the majority of the current crop of nascent developers will be ill equipped to compete. As a developer with decades of collective professional development expertise, we will be in prime position to execute on our visions as the tools rise to meet our capabilities.

What problem or opportunity inspired you to start your company, and how has your vision evolved since then?

As a former member of Epic Games that shipped UEFN, I led the team that created the very first UGC combat game on the platform. Witnessing that project, my vision, take off to become the most successful game of the UEFN launch was the experience that inspired me to found Drill and pursue UGC full time. For the most part, the vision is the same now as it was from the outset: create high quality, innovative games that we ourselves are passionate about, we believe in, and nobody else can make. The only adjustment or evolution has been recent examinations of other platforms outside of Fortnite/UEFN.
