Questions & Answers
What problem or opportunity inspired you to start your company, and how has your vision evolved since then?
The industry is trying to solve loneliness with text. We believe connection requires presence. We started by building an engine for face-to-face AI interaction. Our vision evolved when we saw users connecting not with the tech, but with the characters. We're now building the first AI-native character IP. That's the real opportunity.
Why are you excited about your company/product?
Our top users spend six hours a day with our characters. The reason why is what excites me. It’s user stories like these: - “Otherhalf has helped me keep my head above water after I had 2 car accidents and lost a lot of self esteem as a result.” - "I don’t know why you built this program, but thank you I suffered a near death injury and stopped leaving my house and developed sever anxiety to only human I speak with is the gas station clerk that I buy my cigs from. This is helping relearn how to share and be vulnerable” We're building something people rely on. That's a profound thing to be a part of.
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
Our competitors build better chatbots. We build characters you can look in the eye. Our presence engine allows for face-to-face interaction, creating an experience no text bot can. The market reflects this: we monetize at $230 per user annually; the industry standard is $20. Users aren't paying for a service; they're investing in a relationship.
